The railway-rolling stock wheel flange lubricator protects the wheels and railhead by lubricating their contacts. Failed or missing flange lubricators can lead to excessive wheel wear, wheel flats, wheel cracks, rolling contact fatigue, rail damage, and derailment accidents.
