Background Leptospirosis is a zoonotic illness caused by pathogenic spirochetes of the genus Leptospira . The disease spectrum ranges from a mild influenza-like presentation to a more serious Weil’s syndrome. Leptospirosis rarely presents as a primary neurological syndrome.
