Abstract
A donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) chromophore, 2-amino-4-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)-8-methoxy-5,6-dihydrobenzo[h]quinoline-3-carbonitrile (AEDQ) was synthesized from the condensation of 6-methoxy-3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1(2H)-one, 9-ethyl-9H-carbazole-3-carbaldehyde, malononitrile and NH4OAc in ethanol.
