The phospholipid phosphatase FIG4/Fig4 is a subunit of PIKFYVE/Pikfyve kinase complex that synthesizes phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PI(3,5)P2), a key regulator of endolysosomal trafficking and function.
