Abstract
Skeletal muscle tissue-resident muscle stem cells, also called satellite cells, can undergo self-renewal and differentiation via adult myogenesis to generate muscle lineage through adult life. Satellite cells remain dormant in the quiescent state until the muscle suffers an injury.
