Abstract
Many proteins are still routinely expressed prokaryotically in Escherichia coli, some because they are toxic to eukaryotes. Immunotoxins, which are fusion proteins of a targeting moiety and a truncated Pseudomonas exotoxin A, kill target cells by arresting protein synthesis.
