Abstract
The rhodium-catalyzed olefination and deuteration of tetrahydrocarbazoles in water with the aid of an N,N-dimethylcarbamoyl-protected group is presented. This olefination method features a broad substrate scope, good functional-group tolerance, and high efficiency in water.
