Abstract
Analise microestrutural. Resistencia mecânica a flexao.

Abstract The objectives of this study is to evaluate the pozzolanic reactivity of mortars with two mineral admixtures (Metakaolin and BFS) in substitution of cement. The rate of substitution is fixed after optimization of the mechanical results. Metakaolin and the BFS from blast furnaces have been used with 10% and 40% respectively to the replacement of the cement. At long time, the use of two admixtures provides better results to those of the mortar of reference at early age, The mortar contain...

Abstract Utilization of industrial byproducts like ceramic waste (CW) for enhancing the microstructure and mechanical properties as well as the fire resistance of hardened ordinary Portland cement (OPC) pastes is the main goal of this research. Different cement blends were prepared by partial replacement of OPC with 5, 10 and 20 CW (mass%). Besides, the effect of addition of 0.05 and 0.1 (mass%) of carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) on the mechanical properties and thermal resistance of these composites w...

Abstract This paper presents a study of cellulose pulp fiber-cement composites subjected to supercritical carbonation at a very early age. The raw materials used for the creation of cementitious composite mixes include: Portland cement, limestone filler, and cellulose pulp. Composites were produced by a slurry vacuum dewatering process and subjected to curing conditions which studied the effect of supercritical carbonation concentration (0% and close to 100% of CO 2 ), the effect of cellulosic p...

Abstract The influence of replacing cement by ground brick was investigated in this paper. The materials used in this study were two cements of different composition (higher and lower content of C 3 A), and two ground fired-clay bricks of different composition (“acid” and “lime” bodies). The replacement levels of cement with ground bricks chosen for the tests were 10, 20, 30 and 40% wt. The main aim of this research was to investigate changes in physical and chemical properties and pore structur...

Abstract In the clinker production process, the main component of Portland cement (PC), large amount of CO 2 are emitted into the atmosphere. The use of calcined kaolinitic clays as supplementary material of cement is an alternative to mitigate the environmental impact. In this paper, the influence of the replacement of PC by two calcined kaolinitic clays (15 and 30%), with high content of metakaolinite and different reactivity was studied. Calcined kaolinitic clays were characterized, the pozzo...

Abstract The work analyzes the performance of mortars prepared with two metakaolin samples and ground calcined-clay brick. Complete stress–strain deformation response under compression, porosity, sorptivity, pore size distribution and resistance to penetration of chloride ions have been determined for mortars with up to 40% cement replacement. Continuum damage mechanics analyzes using a scalar model allowed to extract information on the mode of deformation leading to failure of the mortars durin...

Abstract The aim of this work is to study the recycling of tile wastes in the manufacture of blended cements. Cracked or broken ceramic bodies are not accepted as commercial products and, therefore, the unsold waste of the ceramic industry becomes an environment problem. The use of powdered roof tile in cement production, as pozzolanic addition, is reported. The wastes were classified as nonglazed, natural and black glazed tiles. The mineralogy of the powders was controlled by SEM-EDX microscopy...

This work presents the experimental results of a study which intended to develop a composite with cementations matrix reinforced with bamboo pulp. Two types of pulps were used: refined and unrefined pulps. The fibre content varied between 0 and 16% cement (weight basis). After the preparation of fresh composite mix the experimental specimens were prepared applying a specially developed process based on Hastshek method using suction then moulding and pressing. The compression, tension and the fle...
