Addition of copper in biomaterials is currently investigated because it is expected to enhance the biological properties of bone graft substitutes. Copper-doped hydroxyapatite (CuHA) ceramics were prepared by high temperature solid-state reaction sintering between HA and CuO powder mixtures.
