Abstract
An extragastrointestinal stromal tumor (EGIST) is a gastrointestinal stromal tumor that arises outside of the gastrointestinal tract. Most EGISTs are located in the omentum, mesentery, and retroperitoneum. The occurrence of an EGIST at the perianal region is very rare.
