Abstract
We present a nonlinear Kirchhoff–Love micro-shell element based on isogeometric analysis (IGA) and couple stress theory. Higher-order NURBS functions are exploited for analyzing the strain gradient effect which automatically fulfill the higher-order continuity requirements.
