Abstract
The underlying mechanisms of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in lipid metabolism regulation and the pathogenesis of lipid disorder diseases are clarified in this review. circRNAs are produced from host genes by back splicing and are mainly degraded by RNase L. circRNAs act as molecular sponges or scaffolds that bind with microRNAs or proteins and thus affect the intracorporeal processes of lipid metabolism.
