Abstract
Abstract Natural bioflavonoids are an essential component of dietary supplements possessing antimicrobial properties. Many of the bioflavonoids have resulted in positive antitumor, anticancer, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory properties, but the efficacy remains low due to toxicity at the molecular level whereas antiviral property limits to negative. The synergistic link between nanoscience and flavonoid chemistry enhances the epidemiological properties of flavonoid and also diminish the antimicrobial resistivity (AMR) by forming their hybrid nanocomposites. Nanochemistry uses various nanocomposite and nanomaterials for biosensing the flavonoids and their delivery as a drug. The quercetin based flavonoids and their derivatives used for sensing and drug delivery are rutin, quercetin, and myricetin. quercetin with 15Carbon-5Hydroxyl chemical scaffold has been explored for a few decades for the development of hybrid nanocomposite and nanomaterial with metallic as well as organic nano co-composites. This quercetin flavonoid based hybrid nanocomposites seemed to show a significant effect on In vitro and some animal model processes along with attenuating lipid peroxidation, platelet aggregation, and capillary permeability actions. This review mainly focused on the hybrid nanoscience of quercetin bioflavonoid and its application in numerous biological, material fields with a future perspective.

Abstract In this study, zinc oxide-quercetin (ZnO-quercetin) nanocomposite was constructed as smart nano-drug delivery system. The amount of quercetin loaded onto the ZnO nanoparticle was found to be 210 µg mg-1. The quercetin release kinetics data indicates that the rate of quercetin release was faster in acidic (pH of typical cancer) compared to physiological condition. The molecular-level interaction of ZnO-quercetin nanocomposite formation was investigated by a combined experimental and theo...

Quercetin is a flavonoid and is abundant in the plant kingdom. Green nanoparticles (gold and silver) were synthesized by using quercetin as a reductant via a green route for their potential nanoarchitechtonic applications. There were no toxic chemicals involved during the synthesis. The gold and silver nanoparticles exhibited surface plasmon resonance at 527 nm and 401 nm, respectively. Both nanoparticle solutions retained excellent colloidal shelf stability for 7 days and in cell culture medium...

Abstract The aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is an environmental sensor and ligand-activated transcription factor that is critically involved in the regulation of inflammatory responses and the induction of tolerance by modulating immune cells. As dendritic cells (DCs) express high AhR levels, they are efficient to induce immunomodulatory effects after being exposed to AhR-activating compounds derived from the environment or diet. To gain new insights into the molecular targets following AhR-act...

Articular cartilage plays an important role in human body. How to repair articular cartilage defects when they appeared due to various factors has always been a major clinical challenge. Recently, studies have shown that slowing the degradation of cartilage extracellular matrix (ECM) and modulating the inflammatory response of the host thereby promoting cartilage tissue regeneration are important in the cartilage repair process. In this study, a drug-loaded injectable hydrogel was constructed fo...

Abstract The present study was designed to develop a stealth liposomal drug delivery system for a naturally occurring flavonoid, quercetin. Quercetin is a unique polyphenol with multifarious curative applications, anticancer activity being one of them. However, the poor aqueous solubility of this hydrophobic compound hinders its therapeutic effects. For this purpose, our study aimed to enhance the aqueous solubility and in vitro cytotoxic efficacy of quercetin by its incorporation in stealth lip...

Abstract In the present work, we report the antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities of quercetin-capped gold nanoparticles (AuNPsQct). The synthesis of AuNPsQct was confirmed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses. The FTIR spectrum showed the integrity of the quercetin molecules on the nanoparticle surface. The TEM images showed sizes less than 100 nm and a slight spherical shape. The electrostatic stability was confirmed by the zeta potenti...

A series of new films with antibacterial properties has been obtained by means of solvent casting method. Biodegradable materials including polylactide (PLA), quercetin (Q) acting as an antibacterial compound and polyethylene glycol (PEG) acting as a plasticizer have been used in the process. The effect of quercetin as well as the amount of PEG on the structural, thermal, mechanical and antibacterial properties of the obtained materials has been determined. It was found that an addition of querc...
