Abstract
Idiopathic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is defined as necrosis of osteocytes due to a non-traumatic ischemia of the femoral head. Iatrogenic glucocorticoid administration and habitual alcohol intake are regarded as risk factors.
