Abstract
A robust synthesis approach to Al/SnO2 based formaldehyde gas sensing xerogels using epoxide assisted sol-gel chemistry is reported. The route utilizes simple tin and aluminum salt precursors in alcohol/water mixture, thus eliminating the need for organometallic precursors.
