Invasive gastric electrical mapping has revealed spatial abnormalities of the slow wave in subjects with gastroparesis and functional gastrointestinal disorders. Cutaneous high-resolution electrogastrography (HR-EGG) is a non-invasive method that can detect spatial features of the gastric slow wave. We performed HR-EGG in subjects with active foregut symptoms to evaluate associations between gastric myoelectric abnormalities, symptoms (based on a validated questionnaire), and gastric emptying.
