Abstract
Microscopic colitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the colon that frequently causes chronic watery diarrhoea that might be accompanied by abdominal pain, nocturnal diarrhoea, urgency, and faecal incontinence. These symptoms lead to poor quality of life and increased health-care costs.
