Abstract
Mode Division Multiplexing (MDM) increases aggregate capacity and improves spectral efficiency when used with wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). This paper numerically simulate the modal analysis and bit-error-rate (BER) evaluation of a new MDM architecture using concentric multi-diameter ring vortices in a multimode fibre (MMF) backbone.
