Abstract
The composition and antioxidant activity of the essential oil of Carya illinoinensis were evaluated in this research. The yield of essential oils from three varieties was found to vary from 0.024 to 0.03%. GC-MS analysis of the essential oils resulted in the identification of seventy-four compounds representing over 99.97% of the leaf oil. The three essential oils had different chemotypes.
