On 15 April 2016 a very strong and shallow earthquake (EQ) (MW=7.0, depth ∼ 10 km) occurred in Southwest Japan under the city of Kumamoto, while two very strong foreshocks (MW=6.2 and MW=6.0) preceded by about one day.
