Ultrasonography Compared to Radiographs in the Assessment of Extension of Magnetically Controlled Growing Rods

BACKGROUND: Magnetically controlled growing rods (MCGR) are used in the management of early onset scoliosis. Unlike traditional growing rod spinal systems the theoretical advantage is the fact that the extension of the rod can be conducted in clinic without the need for repeat surgery.
