Surface chemistry and microstructure of metallic biomaterials for hip and knee endoprostheses
Abstract
The surface chemistry and microstructures of titanium alloys (both new and used) and CoCrMo alloys used for hip and knee endoprostheses were determined using SEM (morphology), EBSD (phase analysis), AES and XPS (surface chemistry).
