Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PA) is among the five most frequent causes of cancer-related deaths in the United States. An estimated 53,670 new diagnoses of pancreatic cancer and 43,090 deaths occurred in the United States in 2016 (American Cancer Society, 2017).
