Abstract
The authors report a link between mitosis, the formation of micronuclei and DNA-damage-induced cGAS-dependent inflammation. Ionizing radiation and genotoxic cancer therapy induce innate immunity mechanisms and lead to an increased production of inflammatory cytokines.
