First simultaneous generation and utilization of both copper–triazole and −ketenimine intermediates in copper-catalyzed sulfonyl azide–alkyne cycloaddition reactions is achieved for the one-pot synthesis of triazolopyrimidines via a novel copper-catalyzed multicomponent cascade of sulfonyl azides, alkynes, and azirines.
