Abstract
Summary Adaptive local refinement is one of the main issues for isogeometric analysis (IGA). In this paper, an adaptive extended IGA (XIGA) approach based on polynomial splines over hierarchical T‐meshes (PHT‐splines) for modeling crack propagation is presented.
