Abstract
AbstractTwo new biflavonone compounds, sikokianin D (1) and sikokianin E (2), were isolated from the capitulum of Coreopsis tinctoria. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques including NMR, HRESIMS and circular dichroism (CD).

Abstract Four new C 14 -polyacetylene glycosides, namely coreosides A–D (1–4), were isolated from the capitula of Coreopsis tinctoria , a Snow chrysanthemum or Snow tea that is used as a folk tea for prevention of cardiovascular disease in southern Xinjiang, China. Coreosides A–D feature a long chain structure as its aglycon with two acetylenes on C-8 and C-10 and two olefinics on C-6 and C-12 sites, which construct a large conjugate system. The structures were elucidated on the basis of spectro...

Two new dammarane monodesmosides centellosides A (1) and B (2), and two new natural products ginsenosides Mc (10) and Y (11), together with 11 known compounds (3–9 and 12–15) reported for the first time from this genus, were isolated from the whole plants of Centella asiatica. All structures were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques and chemical methods, and compared with literature values. All the isolated compounds were evaluated in vitro for cytotoxicity.

Preliminary screening of a series of medicinal plants, traditionally used in Tanzania, showed an IC50 of 15.6–31.2 μg/ml for the crude extract of the root of Ormocarpum kirkii S. Moore (Papilionaceae) against Plasmodium falciparum. A bioguided isolation was performed in order to isolate the active constituents. Twelve constituents were obtained and identified using NMR and MS data, and optical rotation measurements. The compounds comprised seven (I-3,II-3)-biflavonoids, three (I-3,II-3)-bi-4-phe...

Abstract From root bark of Ormocarpum kirkii a new biflavanone diglucoside, named ormocarpin, was isolated. Its structure and absolute configuration, assigned by chemical and spectroscopic methods, corresponds to 7,7′-β-diglucoside of (2 S ,3 R )-chamaejasmin.

Two C-3/C-3"-biflavanones, chamaejasmine (1) and isochamaejasmin (2), were isolated from the roots of Stellera chamaejasme L. (Thymelaeaceae) and their stereostructures were elucidated on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. Chamaejasmine was found to be a mixture of (-) and (+) forms (68 : 32) by high-performance liquid chromatographic analysis with a column for optical resolution.

Abstract A new flavonoid dimer, strictatin (10), was identified from the aerial part of Conyza stricta, in addition to eleven known compounds. The structure of compound 10 was determined by spectral analyses, including 1D, 2D NMR and HR-ESI-MS experiments. All compounds were identified from Conyza stricta for the first time and flavonoid dimers were firstly reported from the family Asteraceae. The chemotaxonomic significance of the identified metabolites was discussed.
