Abstract
The transcription factors GATA-1 and GATA-2 confer both shared and unique activities to regulate hematopoiesis. GATA-2 is essential for the survival and proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and multipotent hematopoietic precursors, whereas GATA-1 is critical for erythropoiesis.
