Synthesis, molecular structure, spectral analysis and cytotoxic activity of two new aroylhydrazones

Two new aroylhydrazones viz 4-nitro-N′-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)benzohydrazide, NPHY (4) and 4-nitro-N′-(1-(thiophen-2-yl)ethylidene)benzohydrazide, NPHT (5) have been prepared and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, FT-IR, UV–Visible spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
