Abstract
The models used to study toxoplasmosis do not always reflect natural infection dynamics. It is important to choose the most appropriate model for each scientific question. Intermediate hosts, which include all mammals, can be used to study all aspects of infection except the sexual cycle. This can only be achieved in definitive hosts (felines).
