Abstract
Sedimentary petrography and zircon ICP-MS laser ablation ages from synorogenic clastic sediments in the Rheno-Hercynian Belt of Germany (Rheinisches Schiefergebirge, Harz) reveal basal tectonic accretion followed by exhumation and recycling of Baltica-derived Devonian shelf sediments.
