Abstract
Dengue fever is a disease of importance for Public Health in Ecuador, especially in tropical and subtropical areas. This study was conducted in 48 rural communities in the Ecuadorian northwestern coast, where Dengue is endemic. Serum samples were collected from febrile patients and submitted to IgM ELISA and RT-PCR tests.
