Abstract
This paper presents a finite-element (FE) simulation of the mechanical response of a composite T-joint subjected to tensile (pull-out) loading. The FE model includes an analysis of the effect of tufted yarns and interlaminar properties on the ultimate load to failure and a comparison between the full and strip FE model. The FE results show that the ultimate load to failure increases when the tufted yarns are introduced. The tufted configuration...
