The observed microwave effects include thermal effect, superheating or hotspots, and selective heating. These phenomena are almost impossible in classical heating, and the existence of nonthermal effect is still a controversial topic. Hotspot effect is a phenomenon that is often observed in microwave-assisted reaction and is significantly different from the traditional heating reaction. We use the quantum-state specified master equation model of microwave-assisted reaction proposed in 2016 to st...

Abstract The synthesis of asymmetric benzothiazole substituted phthalocyanines (complexes 3 to 5) and their covalent attachment to glutathione (GSH) functionalized quantum dots (QDs) are reported in this work. Additionally, their photophysical and nonlinear optical properties were investigated. A decrease in the fluorescence quantum yield with corresponding increase in the triplet quantum yield was observed when the complexes were covalently linked to glutathione (GSH) functionalized cadmium tel...

Metal鈥搊rganic frameworks (MOFs), ZIF-67, with different morphologies were synthesized via a solvent-induced method at room temperature. The photocatalytic performances towards the reduction of CO2 were evaluated by using ZIF-67 materials as cocatalysts cooperating with a ruthenium-based complex as the photosensitizer. It has been demonstrated that the two-dimensional ZIF-67 with a leaf-like morphology exhibited the best photocatalytic activity and stability due to the highest CO2 adsorption capa...

Space vehicle re-entering the earth's atmosphere is surrounded by a layer of plasma, preventing radio communication from the vehicle, leading to a phenomena called 鈥榬adio blackout鈥. In this study, the concept of guiding high power laser through plasma has been discussed for establishing communication with the space vehicle during re-entry. It is found that, with increase in relativistic electron mass the refractive index of the plasma medium increases, displaying properties similar to that of co...
The two main sources of information about atomic and molecular structure and interatomic interactions are provided by spectroscopic measurements and by the investigation of elastic, inelastic or reactive collision processes. For a long time these two branches of experimental research have been developed along separate lines without a strong mutual interaction. The main contributions of classical spectroscopy to the study of collision processes have been the investigations of collision-induced sp...

Abstract An effective energy level regulation of acceptor by doping samarium phosphate nanophosphors (SmPO 4 NPs) was reported for inorganic/organic hybrid solar cell applications. SmPO 4 NPs doped TiO 2 /P3HT bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cell shows an enhanced power conversion efficiency of approaching 3% as compared with that of its counterpart without SmPO 4 NPs (1.98%). The underlying photophysical mechanism was probed by applying femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy and the resu...

One of the challenges in physical chemistry has been understanding how energy flows in a condensed phase from the microscopic viewpoint. To address this, space-resolved information at the molecular scale is required but has been lacking due to experimental difficulties. We succeeded in the real-time mapping of the vibrational energy flow in a protein with the spatial resolution of a single amino acid residue by combining time-resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy and site-directed single-Trp mut...
