Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia (FLCOD) is a reactive process that involves tooth-bearing areas of the jaws. Reactive or dysplastic changes in periodontal ligament have been suggested as an etiologic factor. It usually affects females and is less frequently seen in Caucasians and Asians groups.
