Mechanogeneration of Acid from Oxime Sulfonates

The generation of acid under mechanical force is potentially useful for initiating proton-catalyzed changes in polymeric materials. Here we demonstrate that oxime sulfonates-known photoacid generators-are also acid generators when activated mechanically.
