Microscopic Observation of Pauli Blocking in Degenerate Fermionic Lattice Gases

The Pauli exclusion principle is one of the most fundamental manifestations of quantum statistics. Here, we report on its local observation in a spin-polarized degenerate gas of fermions in an optical lattice.
