Abstract
Crustal deformation can occur via stick‐slip events, viscous creep, or strain transients at variable rates. Here we explore such strain transients with physical experiments comprising a quasi‐two‐dimensional shear zone with elastic, acrylic discs and interstitial viscous silicone.
