Abstract
Surgery is the most important therapeutic approach for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. We have reviewed patients’ survival after resection for hepatocellular carcinoma in 17 series since 2000, each including more than 100 patients. Median survival rates were 80% (range 63–97%) at 1 year, 70% (34–78%) at 3 years and 50% (17–69%) at 5 years.
