Abstract
Deficiency of the dysferlin protein presents as two major clinical phenotypes: limb–girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B and Miyoshi myopathy. Dysferlin is known to participate in membrane repair, providing a potential hypothesis to the underlying pathophysiology of these diseases.
