Histiocytic aggregates in benign nodular goiters mimicking cytologic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC)

Macrophages/histiocytes are commonly seen in fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) specimens of thyroid nodules with varying degrees of cystic change.
