Abstract
The salient pathological findings in 40 patients with idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis are summarized. The findings tend to confirm previous suggestions that this chronic inflammatory disease is potentially widespread, predominantly peri-aortic, associated with systemic disturbances, and of some fundamental interest.
