We studied the feasibility of immunocytochemistry (ICC), in situ hybridization (ISH), and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) after Cellient ™ automated cell block processing, and tested whether methanol‐based PreservCyt ™ fixation could replace formalin fixation, in an attempt to eliminate toxic formaldehyde vapors.
