Abstract
A method for calculating the elastic constants of high-porosity cellular materials is proposed on the assumption that their oriented structure can be considered as a linear transform of some random structure. A simplified procedure to take into account the effect of gas pressure in closed-cell anisotropic solids on their elastic constants is also suggested.
