To the Editor:Human airway smooth muscle cells (ASMCs) are considered “inflammatory-like cells” by virtue of expressing cell adhesion, costimulatory molecules, and secretion of cytokines and chemokines that may initiate or perpetuate the airway inflammation and the development of airway remodeling.1Tliba O.
