Abstract
Acute posterior multifocal placoid pigment epitheliopathy recurred in seven patients (all men, ranging in age from 25 to 43 years). In all seven cases swelling of the pigment epithelium resolved rapidly but left a permanent pigmentary disturbance. Loss of choriocapillaris occurred in six cases.
