Abstract
This paper sets out and applies a new methodology for determining whether or not economic activity is environmentally sustainable. By comparing current environmental impacts with standards of environmental sustainability, it calculates the ‘sustainability gaps’ (SGAPs) with respect to different environmental impacts.
