An antimalarial stilbene from Artocarpus integer
Abstract
Antimalarial activity-guided study of the aerial parts of Artocarpus integer led to the isolation of the prenylated stilbene, trans-4-(3-methyl-E-but-1-enyl)-3,5,2',4'-tetrahydroxystilbene with an EC50 of 1.7 micrograms/ml against Plasmodium falciparum in culture.
