Abstract
Acylated chitosan was synthesized by reaction of chitosan and stearoyl chloride. The chemical structures and physical properties of the prepared compounds were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Thermogravimetric (TG) techniques.
