Abstract
Six Al–Mg–Si composites reinforced with 15 vol.% of MoSi2 intermetallic particles, together with three unreinforced monolith Al–Mg–Si (AA6061) alloys have been processed by powder metallurgy to quantify the roles of alloy matrix grain size and reinforcement particle on their solutionized hardness and ageing response.
